Healthcare & Disease Guide
Congressional Democrats and Republicans gathered at Blair House for a discussion on health care legislation with President Obama. He first announced the idea for this event during a Super Bowl Sunday interview with CBS news Anchor Katie Couric. Since then, the President has released a health care plan drawing largely from two bills passed by House and Senate Democrats. We heard opening comments from the President and congressional leaders followed by discussions on health care costs, insurance reforms, deficit reduction and expanding coverage.

@blkunity2 If you want to see the true alternative look into Ron Paul.
@blkunity2 read the article by david goldhill called “How American Health Care killed my Father”.
he’s a life-long democrat; but he basically outlines what the republican/libertarian conservative base is looking for which is this: less regulations to allow a market system to properly and adequately meet supply and demand. what we have now is a distorted market due to govt. intervention; and the democrat bill only brings more of the same.
Obama lies about the facts again. The insurance companies president for sure. Not going to help anyone but his income and the insurance companies that make prices so high from the start. Dogs get better prices than we do because they dont have insurance. companies cant over price there care.
Republicans do not have a better plan, they’re only wish is to be in the majority in November!!
Shouldn’t health care be run like the school system? The ones who can afford the better treatment go to private establishments. The ones who can’t afford the best, but want/need decent service, can go to public establishments. Also, it’s the law that kids must attend school right? So why shouldn’t it be law that one must have health care? They’re both services, not businesses, right?
@peapodsss
it’s not socialized medicine…
and also, people voted for Obama because the alternative was McCain…
The money spent on a wars in the middle east= 3 trillion
Money spent to help Americans = 1 trillion
The amount it will take for the GOP to stop lying = Priceless.
apple
Obama slaps everyone’s back twice with his left hand… lol i don’t think he realized that he was doing that. ooopppsss he didn’t do it to John McCain
@crissy055 are you from tea parters?
@GlockMod23 why not murder babies and killing towns in “gods name” also?
@blkunity2 its called the republican agenda. they know that there ganna lose the debate and lost and they tired everything they could to stall it. its called being an ass. Ie donkey…. get it? republicans are asses and adding stupid things in the healthcare bill that they asked for and got but they still said no. they just thought about winning and didnt care for anybody but themselves. thats why the political cartoon portrayed them as an ass. donkey.
People are forced right now to pay car insurance. freckin socialist!!
No REALITY CHECK HUN. George Bush was. His buddies got a bail out that was totally socialist.
As a soldier, I find it pretty amazing that Republicans are making such a fuss over being forced to purchase health insurance because it “infringes their freedom.” Why weren’t any of you raising a fuss when Bush announced that he was going to infringe on soldiers’ contracts by implementing his “stop loss” policy so he could wage his pointless war in Iraq? Why do you complain about costs associated with Obama’s plan but spending trillions in Iraq was acceptable? hypocrites
Obama is the WORST president in American history !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@GlockMod23 murder? seriously? why not just try and vote him out in a few years? you do realize that our country has had civil war before, right? do you think it would be good for the country to return to that kind of unrest? isn’t the peaceful exchange of power part of the reason people like america?

I have some “Christmas Ornaments” of obama…can someone tell me that Best way to hang them from a Tree ??
my view on health care is it should be a service rather than a privilage.see a crime, call the police.see a fire, call the fire department.sick, call a doctor. now i do believe if i pay more than you i should get better coverage than you. if my tax money is going to help. you should first help yourself. i dont want my tax money to help pay for a bypass for a competative eater or a wanna be sumo wrestler
I hear what Democrats are fighting for in this bill. I like some of it and I don’t care for some of it.
What I cannot seem to find is what Republicans want in a healthcare bill other than tort reform.
Why can’t one person say “you have a few ideas that we like A, B, and C. we do not like E, and F and we would also like G and H, and if you do that we can pass a bill together.”
“Let’s scrap this 2,700 page bill and go step by step” is politics not leadership and now we all pay the price.
